The Dark Night

(Episode 2)

Everything was dark and I was so nervous that I could even hear my heart thumping against my chest.

My feet trembled as I tried getting them down my sofa. I stood up slowly still sweating and trembling in fear. I fiddled with my phone as I tried getting it ‘on’. It turned ‘on’ but still showing ‘Low Battery’. I turned on the torch. It lit my way up. I rolled the light all over and examined my room. There was no one. I headed towards the corridors. But the moment I stepped outside my room, something very strange and scary caught my eye.

There was a lady dragging herself across the floor! Her legs were positioned in the shape of the letter ‘z’. She was wearing something like a white robe. She had long, black hair falling on her shoulders and covering the large rips on her robe. Her hands were all bloody. I could only see half of her face. She was pale and with blood shot eyes. But something really weird was that she didn’t have any eyeball (only the cornea was present). She kept dragging herself and the floorboards creaked as she leapt on them. A very scary thing was that she was growling at times like a hungry, ferocious animal. But she was going towards my parents’ room. So, she didn’t have her eyes upon me. But I had to save my life, but I didn’t know what to do.

Chills ran down my spine. I couldn’t believe my eyes, my hair stood at end. I grew pale. I felt my legs as if my legs were stuck to the ground. I just couldn’t move. I grew like a stone, stunned at everything happening. I couldn’t shout. I didn’t actually have the guts to speak even a word.

A couple of minutes passed like that; she didn’t notice me, she just entered into the bedroom. My head was literally blank. I was so stunned that I couldn’t move. I wanted to run, but couldn’t. I felt as if my legs were stuck to the ground. I wanted to run but couldn’t. I wanted shout but couldn’t.

The flashlight in my mobile flickered I fiddled with it trying to keep it on. My legs grew numb and stiff. I felt kind of nauseous. A piercing pain made its way from my legs to the whole of my body. I was really feeling sick. Something was really going wrong with me. Then to my surprise, I started drooling of blood, I surely didn’t like it. The sight of the blood dripping made me feel sick. I really didn’t know what to do. I felt that my head would burst out any second. It felt as if someone was banging it with a heavy and huge hammer. That’s when I felt a cold air on my shoulders. I managed to look behind still trembling.

I could see in the dark that something stood very close to me. I could hear it breathing. I flashed my mobile’s light on the ground. There were two hands with bloody fingers clutching the floorboards. The worst and scary thing was that my legs were bleeding. In second everything became clear to me. And before I could think of anything else, my phone lit up and showed ‘Low Battery’ again and switched off automatically along with its flashlight.
